About the role
Design and ship Node.js services for a fast-growing Southeast Asian startup. This is a 3 to 6 month contract with strong extension potential, working directly with the founding engineering team. You'll have real ownership and a direct line to product decisions.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and operate Node.js + TypeScript services in production.
- Own end-to-end features — API design, data model, rollout, monitoring.
- Work directly with the founding team on architectural decisions.
- Help shape engineering practices as the team scales.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript fundamentals.
- Production experience with Postgres or similar.
- Comfortable making architectural decisions independently.
